Background:
We are supporting with a well-established IT solutions provider in Hong Kong to support a large-scale enterprise GIS transformation project within a leading electricity utility organisation in Hong Kong.
This role sits directly within the client’s core GIS team, which is currently undertaking a comprehensive revamp and modernization of its utility network systems and enterprise GIS applications. The systems involved support critical electricity network operations and asset management functions.
This is a rare, high-visibility opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a large-scale utility networking transformation programme under one of the most established electricity utility enterprises in Hong Kong — widely recognised across the Asia-Pacific region. Responsibilities:
• Act as a core member of the enterprise GIS development team to revamp and enhance mission-critical GIS applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain web-based and enterprise systems using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Develop backend services and APIs integrating with GIS platforms, spatial databases, and utility network models.
• Participate in full SDLC including requirement analysis, system design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Collaborate closely with GIS engineers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders within the utility environment.
• Support system modernization initiatives including performance optimization and architectural enhancement.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and adhere to structured enterprise development standards.
• Support SIT, UAT, production rollout, and ongoing maintenance.
Key Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in .NET development.
• Proficient in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core and/or .NET Framework.
• Experience in ASP.NET MVC, Web API or similar frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and database design.
• Experience with GIS-related systems or spatial data integration is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with platforms such as ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Server is an advantage.
• Understanding of spatial data concepts, map services, or utility network models is a plus.
• Familiar with version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Able to work independently in an on-site enterprise environment.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in application development.
